HIGH FLYING AWARD

The Mohawks have received national recognition yet again.  Bethune-Bowman Middle / High School is the only High School out of 55 entrants named a "High Flying School" by the National Network for Educational Renewal.  Schools from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama will be recognized at an awards ceremony during the National Youth-at-Risk Conference to be held in Savannah, Georgia February 28 thru March 3, 2010.  Mrs. Hook and Mrs. Jefferson will share our school's successes during the "High Flying School Showcase" at the conference.

It's a Three-Peat!....Once again U.S. News & World Report names Bethune-Bowman Middle High School a bronze medal winner among their choices for "America's Best High School's."  Principal Hook credits the hard work of the teachers and the students.  "Next year we'll shoot for the silver!"  Congratulations to the entire BBMHS community and family for this outstanding achievement!

The BBMHS Family Congratulates...Joshua Matthews!

Joshua Matthews has been recruited by the prestigious Howard University of Washington, D.C. for his outstanding performance as a member of the offensive line with the BBMHS Mohawks football team.  Talented in the classroom as well as on the football field, Joshua has been awarded a full athletic scholarship worth over $100,000.00.  He will become a Howard University Bison in the fall.

The signing ceremony took place on National Football Signing Day on the BBMHS campus amid his proud family and coaches.

Tekeisha has been selected by the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives as a Congressional Page for the Spring 2010 session of the Congress of the United States, in Washington, D.C.
Tekeisha was nominated by House Majority Whip, the Hon. James E. Clyburn, Representative of the Sixth District.
